Olympic Live Sites (24.8.2008)
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Live Sites in Hong Kong at the Main Plaza of Sha Tin Park on August 24 attracting thousands of people to witness the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games shown on TV screens. The two Hong Kong Olympic Live Sites at Victoria Park and Sha Tin Park were then accomplished after the ceremony. Picture shows Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan, presenting prize to one of the schools that was awarded in the "Beijing 2008 Cheering Campaign".

"Green life with heart" programme by ten charity organisations to promote Olympism (9.3.2008)
The "Green life with heart" programme, the first programme jointly organised by ten major charity groups here, was launched at a ceremony at Kowloon Park on March 9. The programme, assisted by the Home Affairs Department, aims to promote green Olympics through various district and school activities. Pictured are the Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan (sixth from right), and representatives of the charity groups officiating at the ceremony. The ten charity organisations are: Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Po Leung Kuk, Lok Sin Tong, Pok Oi Hospital, Sik Sik Yuen, The Hong Kong Buddhist Association, Ching Chung Taoist Association of Hong Kong, the Yuen Yuen Institute, Yan Chai Hospital and Yan Oi Tong.
Activities of the launching ceremony include drama performance, quiz games, stretching exercise demonstration for the elderly, healthy food introduction and singers' performances. Photo shows the Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan, joining the elderly to do warm-up exercise.
