THIS MEANS THAT A TROPICAL CYCLONE NOW CENTRED WITHIN ABOUT
800 KILOMETRES OF HONG KONG MAY AFFECT US.
TYPHOON HAIKUI HAS WEAKENED INTO A SEVERE TROPICAL STORM.
AT 9 A.M., HAIKUI WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT 600 KILOMETRES
EAST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 23.2 DEGREES NORTH 119.9 DEGREES
EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 12
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE TAIWAN STRAIT.
