HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


GENERAL SITUATION


RAI WEAKENED FROM A TYPHOON INTO A TROPICAL STORM
PROGRESSIVELY YESTERDAY, AND MOVED ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART
OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA, EDGING CLOSER TO THE COAST OF
GUANGDONG. CLOUD BANDS ASSOCIATED WITH RAI BROUGHT RAINY
WEATHER TO SOUTHERN CHINA. MEANWHILE, THE NORTHEAST MONSOON
AFFECTED SOUTHERN CHINA. LOCALLY, IT WAS CLOUDY WITH RAIN.
WINDS WERE OCCASIONALLY STRONG OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND.
AROUND 10 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE GENERALLY RECORDED
OVER THE TERRITORY. TROPICAL CYCLONE RAI IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA AND
CONTINUE TO WEAKEN TODAY. ITS ASSOCIATED RAINBANDS WILL
AFFECT THE COAST OF GUANGDONG.


WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (TUESDAY, 21 DEC 2021)


CLOUDY WITH OCCASIONAL RAIN. RAIN WILL BE MORE FREQUENT IN
THE MORNING, AND WILL EASE OFF LATER. THE WEATHER WILL BE
COOL WITH TEMPERATURES RANGING BETWEEN 16 AND 18 DEGREES.
FRESH NORTH TO NORTHEASTERLY WINDS, STRONG OFFSHORE AND ON
HIGH GROUND AT FIRST. THERE WILL BE SWELLS.


OUTLOOK : THERE WILL STILL BE ONE OR TWO RAIN PATCHES IN
THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS WITH TEMPERATURES RISING
GRADUALLY. WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN FROM THE NORTH ON
CHRISTMAS DAY. THE WEATHER WILL BECOME COLD APPRECIABLY
EARLY NEXT WEEK.
