LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
PRESSURE IS RISING OVER INLAND GUANGDONG. A REPLENISHMENT
OF THE NORTHEAST MONSOON IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE COASTAL
AREAS OF SOUTHERN CHINA THIS MORNING.


 
AT 5 A.M., THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE WESTERN NORTH
PACIFIC WAS CENTRED ABOUT 360 KILOMETRES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF
YAP. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 18
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE SEAS EAST OF THE PHILIPPINES.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TODAY


 
FINE. DRY DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF
ABOUT 24 DEGREES. IT WILL BECOME APPRECIABLY COOLER AT
NIGHT WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING TO A MINIMUM OF AROUND 17
DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF DEGREES LOWER
IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. MODERATE TO FRESH NORTHERLY WINDS,
OCCASIONALLY STRONG OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND.


 
OUTLOOK : FINE AND DRY IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WITH
TEMPERATURES FALLING PROGRESSIVELY. TEMPERATURES IN THE
URBAN AREAS WILL BE ABOUT 13 DEGREES ON THURSDAY MORNING,
AND A FEW DEGREES LOWER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. COOL IN THE
MORNING IN THE LATTER PART OF THIS WEEK. THE TEMPERATURE
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DAY AND NIGHT WILL BE RELATIVELY LARGE.
