HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
GENERAL SITUATION

TROPICAL CYCLONE HATO INTENSIFIED GRADUALLY FROM A TROPICAL
STORM INTO A TYPHOON YESTERDAY. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF
OUTER SUBSIDING AIR OF HATO, IT WAS VERY HOT AND HAZY WITH
SUNNY PERIODS IN HONG KONG YESTERDAY. THE MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY WAS 36.6 DEGREES,
THE HIGHEST EVER RECORDED. THERE WERE ALSO SQUALLY SHOWERS
WITH THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HATO IS EXPECTED TO
BRING HEAVY SQUALLY SHOWERS AND SWELLS TO THE COAST OF
GUANGDONG TODAY.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
 
STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS. WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN
FURTHER. BECOMING EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLIES IN THE MORNING.
CLOUDY TO OVERCAST WITH HEAVY SQUALLY SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 26 AND 30
DEGREES. SEAS WILL BE ROUGH WITH SWELLS.
 
OUTLOOK : STILL SHOWERY IN THE FOLLOWING FEW DAYS.
