About 24.0% of the value of goods handled in merchanting were sold to affiliated companies for the year 2000. Year-on-year % change of value of goods involved in merchanting was 54.0%. Gross margin earned from merchanting for the year 1999 was HK$ million 53,732. Gross margin earned from merchanting for the year 2000 was HK$ million 70,692.
