World city winners inspire care for Hong Kong The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Donald Tsang, has praised winners of a world city essay and photo competition for their concern about our big "family" - Hong Kong. Mr Tsang was speaking today (April 30) at the prize presentation of the "World city - My city" essay and photo competition organised by the Information Services Department, Sing Tao Daily and Radio Television Hong Kong which was held between February 14 and March 18. Mr Tsang said many of competition entries were brimming with care and yearning for the family. "The contestants showed deep insight and objective analysis in portraying the most touching aspects of Hong Kong with an innovative and progressive approach," he said. "The spirit displayed by the contestants is the reason for Hong Kong's success. "I believe every member of our family will find inspiration in their essays and photos. "We love our family; we care about our society. We dare to blaze new trails and to build Hong Kong and reinforce its position as Asia's world city." Mr Tsang thanked all winners for inspiring Hong Kong people with their work to create a better future for Hong Kong. The competition attracted 700 essays and 179 photos in junior (10-12), youth (13-17) and open (18 or above) categories. The winners and runners up in the essay and photo competition received $7,000, $3,500 and $1,750 in the Open category; $5,000, $2,500 and $1,250 in the Youth category; and $3,000, $1,500 and $750 in the Junior category. The winners and runners up in the essay competition were: Junior: Winner Lam Chi-wing, 1st runner up Ip Kar-yam, 2nd runner up Lo Hiu-wa; Youth: Winner Tsang Fan-yu, 1st runner up Wan Kar-pik, 2nd runner up Yue Chau-shan; Open: Winner Tsang Hing-tung, 1st runner up Leung Shu-king, 2nd runner up Ken Wong. The winners and runners up in the photo competition were : Junior: Yueng Wan-yip, 1st runner up Wai Chun-fai, 2nd runner up Luk Shao-choo; Youth: Winner Cheng Chi-yan, 1st runner up Leung Ying-kit, 2nd runner up Chan Wai-hon; Open: Winner Poon Chi-leung, 1st runner up Yeung Wai-hung, 2nd runner up Tse Kai-hung.
