Murder in Kwai Chung

At 4.20am today, Police received a report from a 40-year-old woman that her father was suspected to be assaulted by her 73-year-old mother with a chopper inside a unit in Kwai Yiu House, Lai Yiu Estate.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 69-year-old man lying inside the unit and sustaining serious injuries to his head. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and later certified dead at 5.41am.
After initial investigation, the case was classified as murder. The 73-year-old woman was arrested in suspected connection with the case. Sustaining no superficial injury, the woman was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state. She is being detained for enquiries.
A chopper in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad 2 of Kwai Tsing is underway.
