Short term injunction of public inspection of 2019 Final Registers of Electors/Voters
*************************************************************************************
The Registration and Electoral Office announced today (October 16) that the arrangement for public inspection of the 2019 Final Registers of Electors/Voters, and the provision of relevant particulars to any other persons is suspended with immediate effect until 4.30pm on October 18, 2019 (Friday).

The Junior Police Officers' Association (JPOA) has filed a judicial review application seeking an urgent interim injunction to, among others, prohibit the Electoral Registration Officer from making the 2019 Final Registers of Electors/Voters available for public inspection.

Today, the Court of First Instance (CFI) has heard and dismissed the application but granted a short injunction order up to 4:30 pm on 18 October 2019 (Friday) to give time to the JPOA to consider if an appeal is to be made.
