CSSA caseload for March 2018

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in March rose by 37 cases, remaining more or less the same as that of February, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (April 25).
      
     The total CSSA caseload at the end of March stood at 231 468 (see attached table), with a total of 333 204 recipients.
      
     Analysed by case nature, low-earnings cases and permanent disability cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.1 per cent and 0.4 per cent to 4 182 cases and 17 036 cases respectively. Ill health cases dropped by 0.2 per cent to 23 570 cases.
      
     Unemployment cases and single parent cases edged up by 0.7 per cent and 0.2 per cent to 12 623 cases and 25 669 cases respectively. Old age cases remained steady at 144 129 cases.
