Suspect in connection with a murder case returned to Hong Kong

     Hong Kong Police received a suspect in connection with a murder case from the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department at the Lok Ma Chau Boundary Control Point yesterday (March 20).

     A local male, aged 31, was in suspected connection with a murder case happened in Tin Shui Shopping Centre, Tin Shui Wai in 2008, in which a male was killed. The 31-year-old man fled to the Mainland after the case.

     With the information of the suspect, Police sought the assistance of the Ministry of Public Security and Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department. The suspect, who absconded for over nine years, was subsequently arrested in the Mainland.

     Police also received three suspects in connection with the murder case from Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department last month.

     Hong Kong Police were grateful for the invaluable assistance rendered by the Ministry of Public Security, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect. The arrest of the suspect in the Mainland demonstrated the determination of the Police of the two places in combating crimes jointly and to uphold the rule of law.

     Active investigation by District Crime Squad of Yuen Long is underway.
