STH visits Sai Kung District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, visited Sai Kung District this afternoon (March 14) to get an update on the latest developments of the district.
 
     Accompanied by the Chairman of the Sai Kung District Council, Mr George Ng, and the District Officer (Sai Kung), Mr David Chiu, Mr Chan visited Tsui Lam Estate in Tseung Kwan O to learn about the transport services connecting with the Mass Transit Railway station.
 
     Mr Chan then proceeded to Silverstrand Beach and was briefed by officers of the relevant departments on the district's proposal to build barrier-free facilities linking the beach and the car park.
 
     Afterwards, Mr Chan travelled to the Sai Kung town centre and took the opportunity to observe the parking as well as loading and unloading activities at See Cheung Street, Hoi Pong Street and the waterfront promenade. He also visited Tso Wo Hang Pier to view the pier facilities.
 
     For the last leg of his district visit, Mr Chan met with members of the Sai Kung District Council to exchange views on district matters.
