Singapore snack brand opens in Hong Kong (with photo)

Irvins Salted Egg's specialty snacks originated in and are produced in Singapore, notably its salted egg potato chips and salted egg fish skin. The snacks are a big hit among Singaporean locals as well as Hong Kong tourists, according to the company's Head of Hong Kong, Ms Jeslin Low. In order to meet the expected huge demand in Hong Kong, the company decided to open its first "pop-up" store in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.
She said, "We love Hong Kong and its vibrant culture. As many of our customers are also based in Hong Kong, expanding to the city is in line with our vision to deliver our salted egg snacks and delightful customer experience. That motivated us to build our own team in Hong Kong and deliver the same retail experience as in Singapore.
"Hong Kong is a very business-friendly city and we find the incorporation and opening process here very smooth. These really support our vision and passion to serve our customers here with our own team built from the ground up. We also want to develop new products as we further engage with our Hong Kong customers and gain an in-depth understanding of their preferences."
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang welcomed the opening of Irvins Salted Egg's first overseas store in Hong Kong. He said, "Hong Kong has a robust economy with a high number of international and Mainland Chinese visitors. It is the best place for Irvins Salted Egg to promote its brand and famous snacks in the region."
