SCS visits Kwai Tsing District (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (February 27) visited Kwai Tsing District and met with members of the Kwai Tsing District Council (K&TDC) to learn more about the developments in the district and the needs of the community. He also toured community service and leisure facilities there.

     Accompanied by the Chairman of the K&TDC, Mr Law King-shing, and the District Officer (Kwai Tsing), Mr Alan Lo, Mr Law first met with members of the K&TDC to exchange views on issues that concerned them.

     Mr Law then visited Asbury Methodist Social Service in Kwai Chung to learn about its facilities and services provided to citizens of all ages. Mr Law chatted with the elderly and non-ethnic-Chinese women who were participating in activities there to hear about their daily life and needs. He also met with young volunteers of the Kwai Tsing District Youth Development Network and students to learn about their voluntary work and learning experiences.

     Before concluding his visit, Mr Law toured Tsing Yi Southwest Leisure Building. He said he was pleased to know that the building, incorporating various green elements in its design, has provided a wide range of leisure and sports facilities to residents in Kwai Tsing District since its opening in July last year.
