Special traffic arrangements in Kowloon East

The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented in phases on February 25:
Phase 1 (From 0.01am to 9.30am)
A. Road closure
The ramp of westbound Kwun Tong Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) will be closed.
B. Traffic diversions
Traffic along westbound Kwun Tong Road heading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) will be diverted to the ramp of westbound Kwun Tong Road leading to westbound Lung Cheung Road, westbound Lung Cheung Road and the ramp of Hammer Hill Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound).
Phase 2 (From 0.01am to 11.59am)
A. Road closure
Wing Yip Street will be closed.
Phase 3A (From 1.30am to 11.30am)
A. Road closure
- Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) between its ramp leading to westbound Prince Edward Road East and its ramp leaving from northbound Wai Fat Road;
- The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound);
- The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound);
- The ramp of eastbound Kai Fuk Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound);
- The ramp of southbound Wang Chiu Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound); and
- The ramp of Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) leading to Wai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Kwun Tong Road, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Kwun Tong Road, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to Tate’s Cairn Tunnel via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, westbound Lung Cheung Road and the ramp of Hammer Hill Road leading to Tate’s Cairn Tunnel (Sha Tin bound);
- Traffic along eastbound Kai Fuk Road heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Kai Fuk Road, Kai Fuk Road Flyover, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road; and
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, Sheung Yee Road flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, southbound Elegance Road, eastbound Kwun Tong Road and eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road.
Phase 3B (From 1.30am to 11.59am)
A. Road closure
- Westbound Kai Fuk Road between Kai Cheung Road and Kai Tak Tunnel;
- Westbound Kai Tak Tunnel;
- Westbound East Kowloon Corridor between Kai Tak Tunnel and San Shan Road; and
- The ramp of westbound Kai Cheung Road leading to westbound Kai Fuk Road.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along westbound Kai Cheung Road heading to To Kwa Wan Road via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Kai Cheung Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Mok Cheong Street and southbound To Kwa Wan Road or diverted to westbound Kai Cheung Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, Olympic Garden roundabout, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Hang Wan Road, southbound Olympic Avenue, eastbound Sung Wong Toi Road and southbound To Kwa Wan Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Kai Cheung Road heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Kai Cheung Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North.
Phase 3C (From 1.30am to 1.30pm)
A. Road closure
- Westbound Kai Fuk Road between westbound Kai Fuk Road flyover and Kai Cheung Road;
- Westbound Kai Fuk Road flyover;
- The ramp of eastbound Wai Yip Street leading to westbound Kai Fuk Road;
- The ramp of westbound Wai Yip Street leading to westbound Kai Fuk Road;
- The ramp of Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) leading to westbound Kai Fuk Road;
- The ramp of westbound Kai Fuk Road leading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road; and
- Shing Fung Road between Kai Tak Bridge and its western cul-de-sac.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along westbound Kwun Tong Road heading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road via Kai Fuk Road will be diverted to westbound Kwun Tong Road, southbound Lai Yip Street, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Wai Yip Street heading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road via Kai Fuk Road will be diverted to eastbound Wai Yip Street, northbound How Ming Street, westbound Hung To Road, southbound Lai Yip Street, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
- Traffic along westbound Wai Yip Street heading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road via Kai Fuk Road will be diverted to westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
- Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) heading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road via Kai Fuk Road will be diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Concorde Road, southbound Shing Kai Road, eastbound Muk Chui Street, southbound Wang Kwong Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
- Traffic along westbound Kwun Tong Road heading to To Kwa Wan Road via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Mok Cheong Street and southbound To Kwa Wan Road or diverted to westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, Olympic Garden roundabout, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Hang Wan Road, southbound Olympic Avenue, eastbound Sung Wong Toi Road and southbound To Kwa Wan Road;

- Traffic along eastbound Wai Yip Street heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to eastbound Wai Yip Street, northbound Lai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North;
- Traffic along westbound Wai Yip Street heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North; and
- Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North.
Phase 4 (From 3am to 11.30am)
A. Road closure
- Westbound East Kowloon Corridor between San Shan Road and Chatham Road North; and
- San Shan Road between To Kwa Wan Road and East Kowloon Corridor.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along southbound To Kwa Wan Road or westbound San Shan Road heading to southbound Chatham Road North via East Kowloon Corridor will be diverted to southbound To Kwa Wan Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road, southbound Gillies Avenue North, westbound Hok Yuen Street and southbound Chatham Road North; and
- Traffic along northbound To Kwa Wan Road heading to southbound Chatham Road North via East Kowloon Corridor will be diverted to northbound To Kwa Wan Road, eastbound San Ma Tau Street, westbound San Ma Tau Street, southbound To Kwa Wan Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road, southbound Gillies Avenue North, westbound Hok Yuen Street and southbound Chatham Road North.
Phase 5A (From 4.30am to 12.30pm)
A. Road closure
- The unnamed road leading to the Kai Tak Runway Park;
- Westbound Sheung Yee Road between Wai Yip Street and Wang Chiu Road;
- Cheung Yip Street between Sheung Yee Road and Hoi Bun Road;
- Tsui Hing Street;
- Hoi Bun Road between Cheung Yip Street and Kei Yip Street;
- Lam Chak Street;
- Kai Hing Road;
- Hung Yip Street;
- Shun Yip Street;
- Lai Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street;
- How Ming Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street;
- Tsun Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street;
- Kei Yip Street; and
- Kei Yip Lane.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along northbound Cheung Yip Street heading to Kwun Tong area will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Sheung Yee Road, flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, southbound Elegance Road to Kwun Tong area;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Kwun Tong area will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, southbound Elegance Road to Kwun Tong area;
- Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to westbound Sheung Yee Road will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road; and
- Traffic along southbound Lai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay area will be diverted to westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Wai Yip Street or Hoi Yuen Road heading to Tsun Yip Street will be diverted to Hoi Yuen Road roundabout, eastbound Wai Yip Street, King Yip Street, Shing Yip Street, Hoi Yuen road, How Ming Street, Chong Yip Street, westbound Hung To Road, southbound Lai Yip Street, eastbound Wai Yip Street and Tsun Yip Street.
Phase 5B (From 4.30am to 1pm)
A. Road closure
- Eastbound Sheung Yee Road between Wang Hoi Road and Wai Yip Street;
- Southbound Wang Hoi Road between Wang Yuen Street and Sheung Yee Road;
- Sheung Yuet Road between Wai Yip Street and Wang Hoi Road;
- Kai Lok Street between Wang Chiu Road and Kai Yip Road; and
- Siu Yip Street between Wai Yip Street and Tai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wang Chiu Road and northbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Wai Yip Street/Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wang Chiu Road and northbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Telford Gardens will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, flyover and southbound Wai Yip Street;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Wai Yip Street /Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Telford Gardens will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, flyover and southbound Wai Yip Street;

- Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to westbound Sheung Yuet Road will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road, southbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Lam Fung Street, northbound Wang Tai Road, eastbound Wang Yuen Street, northbound Wang Hoi Road and westbound Sheung Yuet Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yuet Road and eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wai Yip Street heading to northbound Wai Yip Street/Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yuet Road and eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wai Yip Street heading to Telford Gardens will be diverted to northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, flyover and southbound Wai Yip Street; and
- Traffic along southbound Wai Yip Street heading to Siu Yip Street or Tai Yip Street will be diverted to southbound Wai Yip Street, eastbound Tai Yip Street and northbound Tai Yip Street.
C. Suspension of parking spaces
The following on-street parking spaces will be suspended from 8pm on February 24 to 1.30pm the following day:
- Goods vehicle parking spaces and disabled parking space at Lam Chak Street;
- Goods vehicle parking spaces at Kai Hing Road;
- Goods vehicle parking spaces, metered parking spaces and disabled parking spaces at Hoi Bun Road;
- Metered parking spaces, disabled parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces at Kei Yip Lane;
- Metered parking spaces and disabled parking spaces at Kai Lok Street; and
- Motorcycle parking spaces at Wing Yip Street.
Any vehicle found illegally parked within the precincts mentioned above will be towed away without prior warning.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
