Tenders invited for Development of Lok Ma Chau Loop - Land Decontamination and Advance Engineering Works

     The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (February 9) invited tenders for the contract for the Development of Lok Ma Chau Loop - Land Decontamination and Advance Engineering Works.
 
     The works comprise:

* land decontamination treatment within the Loop;
* establishment of an Ecological Area within the Loop;
* construction of a temporary access to the Loop, including an approximately 60-metre-long temporary vehicular bridge across the old Shenzhen River meander, minor improvement works to Ha Wan Tsuen East Road and other ancillary works;
* construction of temporary noise barriers and miscellaneous road works along Lok Ma Chau Road;
* ground treatment works within the Loop; and
* implementation of environmental mitigation measures and an environmental monitoring and audit programme for the works mentioned above.
 
     The works are scheduled to commence in June subject to the funding approval of the Legislative Council and will take about 36 months to complete.
 
     The CEDD has commissioned Black & Veatch Hong Kong Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the forms of tender and other particulars from the company at 43/F, AIA Kowloon Tower, 100 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong.
 
     An invitation to the tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on March 23.
