SCS visits Sha Tin District (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (February 8) visited Sha Tin District and met with members of the Sha Tin District Council (STDC) to get an update on community needs and the district's latest developments. He also toured an academic institution and youth facilities in the district.
 
     Accompanied by the Chairman of the STDC, Mr Ho Hau-cheung, and the District Officer (Sha Tin), Miss Amy Chan, Mr Law first met with members of the STDC to exchange views on district matters.
 
     Accompanied by the President and Principal of the Hong Kong College of Technology (HKCT), Dr Chan Cheuk-hay, Mr Law then toured the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus to learn more about the facilities and programmes provided by the HKCT and chatted with students. Mr Law said he was pleased to learn that the HKCT provides various study pathways for young people with different aspirations by offering diversified post-secondary programmes of various disciplines emphasising both theory and practice.
    
     Mr Law also visited the Breakthrough Youth Village to learn more about the facilities and services there. He was glad to learn that the village provides a wide variety of activities for young people to help them discover their interests and potential. He encouraged them to actively explore their aspirations so as to plan and strive for their own future.
