SED to attend Education World Forum in UK

     The Secretary for Education (SED), Mr Kevin Yeung, will leave Hong Kong on Sunday (January 21) for the Education World Forum (EWF) in London, the United Kingdom (UK), to be held from January 21 to 24.
      
     The EWF is the world's largest gathering of education and skills ministers representing over 80 per cent of the world's population to deliberate on future education policy. Mr Yeung will speak at one of the forum keynote sessions and hold bilateral meetings with other education ministers attending the forum.
      
     During his stay in London, Mr Yeung will call on the Department for Education of the UK and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the UK. He will also meet with the management of the Chartered College of Teaching and the British Council.
      
     In addition, Mr Yeung will visit the British Educational Training and Technology Show to give support to Hong Kong teachers and students who will demonstrate their achievements in relation to STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and coding education.
      
     He will also meet with a group of teachers currently on a study tour in London and Hong Kong students pursuing studies in renowned universities in the UK under the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme. 
      
     Mr Yeung will return to Hong Kong on January 25. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, will be the acting SED.
