Two nominations for Legislative Council by-election received

The nomination period for the 2018 Legislative Council by-election started today (January 16). A total of two nomination forms were received by the relevant Returning Officers on the first day of the nomination period. The number of nomination forms received for each constituency is as follows:

Hong Kong Island geographical constituency	1
Kowloon West geographical constituency	0
New Territories East geographical constituency	1
Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape functional constituency	0
Total	2

Particulars of the nominees are available on the election website (www.elections.gov.hk/legco2018by/eng/nominat2.html).

The nomination period will run until January 29. If the number of validly nominated candidates for a geographical constituency/functional constituency is more than one at the by-election, a poll will be held on March 11 (Sunday) for the by-election for that geographical/functional constituency.
