TID to hold seminar for SMEs on "Getting Prepared for Business Opportunities in the Bay Area"

     The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "Getting Prepared for Business Opportunities in the Bay Area" on January 24 (Wednesday).

     The development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area is a key national development strategy and also a topic that the small and medium enterprise (SME) community is highly interested in. The work on drawing up the relevant development plan is essentially completed and is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2018. This seminar will discuss, from the perspectives of export credit management and financial arrangement, how SMEs may get prepared to seize the business opportunities in the Bay Area. Guest speakers will also discuss their experience of developing business in the Mainland and the business environment of Qianhai. The seminar will further introduce how the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (Enterprise Support Programme) may assist SMEs in exploring the Mainland market.

     The speakers will include the Supervisor of the Key Account Department of the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation Guangdong Branch, Ms Ceci Peng; the Vice President of the Dah Sing Bank Commercial Banking Division, Mr Wilson Lam; the Deputy General Manager of Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited, Ms Yvonne Wong; the Vice President of German Pool (HK) Limited, Ms Karen Chan; and a representative of the Secretariat of the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (Enterprise Support Programme).

     The seminar will be held at 2.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay (MTR Tin Hau Station, Exit B). The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
