Vacancy in Eastern District Council

     The Government declared by notice in the Gazette today (January 5) the existence of a vacant elected seat in the Eastern District Council Kai Hiu Constituency.

     The office was held by the late Ms Lam Chui-lin, an elected member who passed away on December 17, 2017. In accordance with section 26(a) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547), the office has become vacant.

     The Registration and Electoral Office will arrange a by-election.
