Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal works in Central district from this Saturday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (January 3) reminded the public that to facilitate tram track renewal work in the Central district, parts of the slow lane of Pedder Street near Des Voeux Road Central will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from about 2pm this Saturday (January 6) to 6am on January 8 (Monday) or until the above work is completed.

     Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists.

     The TD anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of Central (such as Pedder Street and Des Voeux Road Central) will be more congested. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to plan their journey early and allow sufficient time to cater for unexpected delays, and to stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media.
