Tenders invited for operating two new Community Green Stations
**************************************************************
The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) announced today (December 22) that tender invitations for the service contracts of the Tuen Mun Community Green Station (CGS) and the Kwai Tsing CGS had been issued.

An EPD spokesman said, "In addition to the CGS projects in Sha Tin, Eastern District, Kwun Tong, Yuen Long and Sham Shui Po currently in operation, the construction work of the Tuen Mun CGS and the Kwai Tsing CGS is near completion. They are expected to be commissioned in the first half of next year. The EPD is now inviting tenders for appointing operators to operate the two projects in serving the community."

Since 2013, the EPD has been progressively developing a network of CGSs across the territory. The CGS projects, under the operation of non-profit-making organisations (NPOs), aim to enhance environmental education and provide support to the local communities in practising waste reduction, reuse and recycling, thereby enabling green living to take root at the community level.

For this tender invitation, eligible NPOs can submit tenders for one or two CGS service contracts. To encourage more NPOs to participate in community environmental services, a tenderer will normally at most be awarded one CGS service contract in this round of tender. Details of the associated tenderer acceptance rules can be found in the respective tender documents. The EPD will evaluate the Technical Proposal and Price Proposal of each received tender in accordance with the established procedures. Results are expected to be announced in the second quarter of 2018.

The tender will close at noon on February 14, 2018 (Wednesday). Interested parties may obtain the tender documents from the Supplies Section of the EPD at 5/F, Chinachem Exchange Square, 1 Hoi Wan Street, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, during office hours. They may also refer to the EPD's website www.epd.gov.hk for further information. For enquiries, please call 3528 0478.
