Special traffic arrangements on Sunday

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate three public events to be held on Hong Kong Island and New Territories this Sunday (December 10).

Hong Kong Island
----------------

(I)

     The western general pick-up/drop-off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park will be closed from 2pm on December 9 to 3pm the following day.

     The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 3am to noon on December 10:

A. Road closure

- Edinburgh Place east of City Hall, except for vehicles leaving from City Hall car park;
- Edinburgh Place north of City Hall, except for vehicles leaving from City Hall car park;
- Lung Wo Road, except the slow lane of westbound Lung Wo Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place;
- Yiu Sing Street;
- The slow lane of southbound Man Yiu Street between Man Kwong Street and Lung Wo Road;
- The slow lane of eastbound Man Po Street near northbound Man Yiu Street; and
- The slow lane of eastbound Lung Wui Road near westbound Lung Wo Road.

B. Traffic diversions

- Traffic along Edinburgh Place east of City Hall cannot enter Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Yiu Sing Street;
- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Man Cheung Street cannot enter eastbound Lung Wo Road. Affected vehicles will be diverted via Man Yiu Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Man Po Street cannot enter eastbound Yiu Sing Street. Affected vehicles will be diverted via Man Yiu Street;
- Affected vehicles on eastbound Lung Wo Road or Yiu Sing Street heading for eastbound Lung Wui Road will be diverted via southbound Man Yiu Street, eastbound Connaught Place, eastbound Connaught Road Central, eastbound Harcourt Road and northbound Tim Mei Avenue;
- Traffic along northbound Legislative Council Road cannot turn left to westbound Lung Wo Road. Affected vehicles will be diverted via southbound Legislative Council Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Lung Wui Road cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road.

     All vehicles parked illegally will be towed away without prior notice.

(II)

A. Road closure

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 1.30pm on December 10 until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Tin Chiu Street;
- Marble Road;
- Kam Hong Street;
- Westbound King’s Road;
- Westbound Causeway Road;
- Westbound Irving Street;
- Northbound Pennington Street;
- Westbound Yee Wo Street;
- Westbound Jardine’s Bazaar;
- Westbound Hennessy Road;
- Westbound Queensway;
- Westbound Queen’s Road Central;
- Westbound Queen’s Road West;
- Chiu Kwong Street; and
- Western Street.

B. Suspension of parking spaces

     Metered parking spaces No. 3040(A), 3040(B), 3041(A) and 3041(B) at Marble Road will be suspended from 10pm on December 9 to 6pm the following day.

     Vehicles may not be permitted to leave car parks along the closed roads during the road closure period.

New Territories
---------------

A. Road closure

     Southbound Ting Kok Road between Ting Tai Road and On Chee Road will be closed from 6am to 8.15am on December 10.

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 6am to 8.15am:

- Southbound Ting Kok Road between On Chee Road and Tai Po Tai Wo Road;
- Westbound On Chee Road between Ting Kok Road and On Cheung Road; and
- Eastbound Mei Sun Lane between Ting Kok Road and Kau Hui Chik Street.

     The following roads will be closed from 7.30am to 8.15am:

- The left lane of westbound Kwong Fuk Road between Nam Wan Road and Wan Tau Street; and
- The left lane of southbound Wan Tau Street between Kwong Fuk Road and Pan Chung Road.

B. Cycling track closure

     The cycle track along the Waterfront Park between Yuen Shin Road and Dai King Street will be closed from 7.30am to 9am. During the cycle track closure period, cyclists may use the cycle track along Yuen Shin Road and Ting Kok Road to travel between Tai Po Waterfront Park and Tai Po Town Centre.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
