Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin

     Police today (December 5) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin on December 3 in which a 75-year-old woman died.

     At about 8.30am on that day, a taxi driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Yin Hing Street towards Choi Hung Road.  When approaching Choi Hung Road, it reportedly knocked down the 75-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the female pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 1.31am on December 4.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early January in 2018.

     Active investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
