SCS visits Hongkong Post (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (December 5) visited Hongkong Post and met with its management and frontline staff to learn more about the department's work and challenges.
 
     Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Thomas Chow, Mr Law first met with the Postmaster General, Mr Gordon Leung, and the directorate staff. He was briefed on how the department enhances its operational efficiency and customer convenience through information technology and innovation initiatives.
 
     Mr Law then toured the iPostal Station at Central Mail Centre, Kowloon Bay, where he was briefed by colleagues on the operation of the self-serviced locker suite, which allows customers greater flexibility in mail collection.
    
     Mr Law then visited the Bulk Mail Acceptance Counter of the Retail Business Division, and was briefed on the convenience provided for senders of bulk mail. While visiting the Indoor Section of the Mail Processing Division, Mr Law said he was pleased to learn that three automatic Culler Facer Cancellers, installed for stamp cancelling and preliminary mail sorting, have expedited the mail processing procedure.
 
     Before concluding his visit, Mr Law met with staff representatives of various grades at a tea gathering to exchange views on matters that concerned them. He expressed gratitude for their hard work and encouraged them to continue to provide the public with efficient postal services.
