STH visits Islands District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, met with Islands District Council (DC) members and visited Cheung Chau this afternoon (November 10).
      
     Mr Chan first had a meeting with the DC members to exchange views on transport and housing issues.

     Accompanied by the Chairman of the Islands DC, Mr Chow Yuk-tong, and the District Officer (Islands), Mr Anthony Li, he then visited Cheung Chau to learn more about transport and housing issues on the island.
      
     Upon arrival at Cheung Chau, Mr Chan inspected bicycle parking around San Hing Praya Street and Praya Street. He then proceeded to Cheung Kwai Estate, where he was briefed on a proposal to build hillside elevator links.

     At the end of his visit, before leaving Cheung Chau by ferry Mr Chan took the opportunity to learn about the facilities at the pier.
