Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island this Sunday (November 5).

Road closure
------------

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 10am until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Des Voeux Road Central;
- Westbound Queen’s Road Central; and
- Eastbound Hollywood Road.

     The following roads will be closed from about 10am until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Southbound Bank Street;
- Southbound Possession Street;
- Northbound Pound Lane;
- Northbound Upper Station Street;
- Northbound Sai Street;
- Northbound Tung Street; and

- Southbound Tai Ping Shan Street between Square Street and Upper Station Street.

Traffic diversions
------------------

     The following traffic diversions will be implemented from about 10am until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Traffic along eastbound Hollywood Road must turn right to southbound Po Yan Street;
- Traffic along northbound Po Yan Street must turn left to westbound New Street;
- Traffic along westbound Tai Ping Shan Street cannot turn right to northbound Po Yan Street;
- Traffic along northbound Upper Station Street cannot turn right to eastbound Hollywood Road and must turn left to Lok Ku Road if necessary;
- Traffic along northbound Sai Street cannot turn right to eastbound Hollywood Road;
- Traffic along northbound Tung Street cannot turn right to eastbound Hollywood Road; and
- Traffic along southbound Bonham Strand must turn right to westbound Queen’s Road Central.

Suspension of parking spaces
----------------------------

     All parking spaces outside Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road will be suspended from about 8am to 12.30pm.

     Vehicles may not be permitted to leave car parks along the above procession route during the road closure period.

     All vehicles found illegally parked within the precincts will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
