SEN attends C40 Steering Committee meeting in Paris (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, attended the Steering Committee meeting of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) in Paris, France, on October 23 (Paris time) to exchange views with mayors and officials of other cities on combating climate change.

     Before joining the Steering Committee meeting of C40, Mr Wong attended the plenary sessions of CityLab 2017 in the morning to learn more about the inclusive actions of other cities to tackle climate change in a holistic way. He also attended the official lunch hosted by the Mayor of Paris and Chairperson of C40, Ms Anne Hidalgo.

     In the afternoon, he met with the Executive Director of C40, Mr Mark Watts, and briefed the media on the work of Hong Kong in combating climate change.

     Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong tomorrow (October 25).
