Serious incident bulletin on Air Cargo Global and Hong Kong Airlines aircraft

     The investigation team of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) today (October 20) released Serious Incident Bulletin 3/2017 in relation to a serious incident that occurred on September 22 at Hong Kong International Airport, in which an Air Cargo Global Boeing 747-400 SF (Special Freighter) aircraft (registration mark OM-ACB) intruded on Runway 07R while a Hong Kong Airlines Limited Airbus A330-300 aircraft (registration mark B-LNS) was commencing take-off on the same runway.

     A spokesman for the CAD said that the bulletin contains information relating to the serious incident as determined up to the time of issue, and must be regarded as tentative.

     "The investigation team will continue to collect and study all relevant information in order to determine the circumstances and causes of the serious incident. More in-depth investigation and analysis has to be done before any conclusion can be drawn," the spokesman said.
