Opening hours extended for "Eternal Life - Exploring Ancient Egypt" exhibition
******************************************************************************
Due to tropical cyclone, Hong Kong Science Museum was closed today (October 15). As "Eternal Life - Exploring Ancient Egypt" exhibition will end soon and members of the public were not able to visit this exhibition during weekend, the museum will extend the opening hours to 9pm for the last three days (October 16 to 18) to allow more visitors to enjoy the exhibition. The service hours of the box office will also be extended to 8pm.

The opening hours of the permanent exhibition gallery will remain unchanged.

"Eternal Life - Exploring Ancient Egypt" exhibition crosses the boundaries between history, culture and science while exhibiting six Egyptian mummies between 1,800 and 3,000 years old and around 200 invaluable objects. Advanced tomography scanning technology had been applied to provide an alternative approach for visitors to appreciate the culture of ancient Egypt.

The exhibition is one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Trustees of the British Museum, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Science Museum and the British Museum. Solely sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, it is one of the exhibitions in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Series.

The Hong Kong Science Museum is located at 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East. For details of the exhibition, please visit the website at hk.science.museum or call 2732 3232 for enquiries.
