STH to attend 10th APEC Transportation Ministerial Meeting

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, will depart for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, tomorrow night (October 5) to attend the 10th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Transportation Ministerial Meeting.

     Transportation ministers and senior officials from the 21 APEC economies will discuss the latest developments of transportation systems in the Asia-Pacific region, covering issues such as safety, security, resilience and sustainability, with a view to fostering closer regional economic integration.

     Mr Chan will give a presentation on Hong Kong's transport infrastructure public-private partnership at the panel session on sustainable transportation.

     Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong on Sunday night (October 8). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Dr Raymond So Wai-man, will be the Acting Secretary for Transport and Housing.
