Public advised to visit soon-to-close LCSD mega exhibitions
***********************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s three current mega exhibitions, namely "Longevity and Virtues: Birthday Celebrations of the Qing Emperors and Empress Dowagers", "Hall of Mental Cultivation of The Palace Museum – Imperial Residence of Eight Emperors" and "Eternal Life – Exploring Ancient Egypt", will come to an end on October 9, 15 and 18 respectively. Members of the public are advised to take the opportunity to visit these spectacular exhibitions in the coming weeks before they close.

The first exhibition showcases the splendour of the grand birthday celebrations of the Qing court, while the second exhibition reveals the special "home-office" function of the Hall of Mental Cultivation (also known as Yangxindian) for the Qing Emperors, and the third one features the mysterious mummies of ancient Egypt.

A spokesperson for the LCSD today (September 28) noted that the three exhibitions have received much public and media attention and been visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors since opening.

The spokesperson said, "As the exhibitions will close soon, it is likely that a great number of visitors will seize the final opportunity to visit them. Visitors are advised to plan ahead for their visit arrangements to avoid overcrowding in the final few days."
