Janoska Ensemble to fuse music genres in October concert
********************************************************

Janoska Ensemble, a Vienna-based group noted for its gentle and flawless touch, will fuse popular classical works with music from other genres in a concert next month.

The ensemble consists of Slovakian brothers Ondrej Janoska (violin), Roman Janoska (violin) and František Janoska (piano) and their brother-in-law Julius Darvas (double bass).

The four musicians have been based in Vienna since their school days. This ancient capital in which music cultures converge has offered rich inspiration to the ensemble. Accomplished in their individual music careers, the talented four have given solo recitals at signature concert halls including Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Sydney Opera House and the Berlin Konzerthaus, in addition to frequently joining up to perform ensemble concerts.

In 2013, the four decided to form the Janoska Ensemble, and their refreshing and intriguing improvisation earned them immediate fame worldwide. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from popular classics to their own compositions and unique arrangements of jazz, pop, tango, Latin and gypsy music, and their 2016 debut classical album "Janoska Style" received international acclaim. The ensemble has developed a modern interpretation of works and a unique Janoska approach that is both virtuosic and profoundly personal.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department as one of the highlights of the Music Delight Series, the concert by Janoska Ensemble will be staged at 8pm on October 28 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of Tsuen Wan Town Hall. Tickets priced at $120, $180 and $240 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone credit card bookings, please call 2111 5999.
