Entries invited for "Capture and Experience Tung Chung" photo competition
***************************************************************

The "Capture and Experience Tung Chung - Prequel to Tung Chung New Town Extension 2017" photo competition organised by the Civil Engineering and Development Department is inviting entries from today (September 25). The competition is aimed at recording and capturing the changes to Tung Chung from the perspective of members of the public.

The Tung Chung New Town Extension (TCNTE) is one of the key land supply initiatives suggested in the Policy Address in recent years. According to the TCNTE Study, Tung Chung East will be used for comprehensive housing and commercial development while Tung Chung West will adopt low-density development in order to preserve its rural character. The future population of Tung Chung New Town is expected to reach about 268,000 in total.

Two themes have been set for the competition, namely "Landscape, Architecture and Heritage" and "Culture and Living". Under these themes, members of the public are invited to record, by means of photographs, the daily life of Tung Chung residents as well as the natural landscape, special and historical buildings and heritage of Tung Chung before the extension of the new town.

The competition is divided into an Open Group and a Student Group. There is also an online voting for members of the public to select "My Favourite Photo". Prizes for each Group include:
