Latest arrangements of dedicated hotline and email for Hong Kong students awaiting visas for studying in United Kingdom
***************************************************************

A Government spokesman said today (September 22) that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government will cease to operate the 24-hour dedicated hotline 3142 2522 and email address ukstudentvisa@1823.gov.hk for students awaiting visas for studying in the United Kingdom (UK) with effect from midnight this Sunday (September 24).

"Noting that the processing of UK student visa applications in this school year has largely returned to normal and the constant decrease in the number of enquiries received through the dedicated hotline and email, the HKSAR Government will cease to operate these measures with effect from this Sunday," the spokesman said.

Individual applicants who thereafter have enquiries about their student visa applications for studying in the UK may contact the relevant authority direct.

From the commencement of operation of the dedicated hotline and email at 3pm on September 5 to 5pm today, the HKSAR Government received a total of 1 896 telephone enquiries and 797 email enquiries.
