Woman arrested for attempted murder

     Police are investigating an attempted murder case in Mong Kok last night (September 21).

     At about 9.33pm yesterday, Police received a report from a 36-year-old man that his 29-year-old girlfriend attempted to commit suicide in a unit at 85-95 Tong Mi Road. Police officers sped to the scene and found the woman, her three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter. All of them were conscious. A basin of burned charcoal was found inside the unit. The two children were sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for medical treatment.

     Initial investigation revealed that the woman had suspectedly burned charcoal in an attempt to kill herself and her children. She was arrested for attempted murder and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Mong Kok District is underway.
