Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal works in Eastern District from this Saturday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (September 21) reminded the public that to facilitate the tram track renewal works in Eastern District, the following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic (except trams) from about 10am this Saturday (September 23) to 11.59pm on October 6 (Friday) or until the above works are completed:

*A section of the nearside lane of Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound near Hoi An Street;
*A section of the offside lane of Hoi An Street near Shau Kei Wan Road; and
*A section of the tram lane on Hoi An Street near Shau Kei Wan Road.

     Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists.

     The TD anticipates that traffic in the vicinity of Shau Kei Wan Road will be relatively congested during the above works period. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to plan their journey early, allow more travelling time and stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media.
