LegCo Members conduct site visit on issues relating to street obstruction caused by recyclers in Sham Shui Po (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     Legislative Council Members conducted a site visit to Sham Shui Po today (September 20) to follow up on a complaint about street obstruction caused by recyclers.

     Accompanied by the representatives of various Government departments including the Environmental Protection Department, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the Hong Kong Police Force, the Sham Shui Po District Office and the Planning Department, Members observed the street obstruction caused by recyclers near Yee Kuk Street, Pei Ho Street and Hai Tan Street.  Members were briefed by the representatives of the Government departments on the follow-up actions taken to address the obstruction problem.

     Members who participated in the site visit are Dr Priscilla Leung, Dr Helena Wong and Dr Chiang Lai-wan.
