Twenty-two building plans approved in July

     The Buildings Department approved 22 building plans in July, with six on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, nine were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, nine were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and two were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 15 building projects that, when completed, will provide 205 630 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 3 563 units, and 82 236 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for five building projects.

     The department also issued 19 occupation permits, with four on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 190 450 sq m, involving 2 464 units, and 97 754 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $11.7 billion.

     In addition seven demolition consents involving seven building structures were issued.

     The department received 2 819 reports about unauthorised building works in July and issued 1 193 removal orders on unauthorised works.
