United Nations Sanctions (South Sudan) Regulation 2017 gazetted

     The Government today (September 15) gazetted the United Nations Sanctions (South Sudan) Regulation 2017, which came into operation today.
 
     "The Regulation implements sanctions against South Sudan imposed by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2353," a Government spokesperson said.
 
     The sanctions under the Regulation include:
 
  • prohibition against making available to certain persons or entities any funds or other financial assets or economic resources, or dealing with funds or other financial assets or economic resources of certain persons or entities; and
  • prohibition against entry into or transit through the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region by certain persons.
