LD to hold occupational health public talks
     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Manual Handling Operations and Prevention of Back Injuries" on September 22 (Friday). The talk will introduce causes of and preventive measures for back injuries, as well as proper manual handling operations.
     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse and Occupational Hygienist will give the talk.
     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Health for Workers of Residential Care Homes for the Elderly" on September 28 (Thursday). The talk will elaborate on the occupational health hazards faced by workers of residential care homes for the elderly and preventive measures, to enhance employees' awareness of occupational health. Demonstrations of workplace exercises will be included.
     The talk will be held at 2.30pm at Fanling Occupational Health Clinic, 7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
