Fun-filled carnival in Sydney to celebrate 20th anniversary of HKSAR (with photos)

HK20 Fun Fun Carnival, organised by the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association New South Wales Chapter, with the support of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Sydney (HKETO), was held from 10am to 4pm at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour.
The Carnival offered Sydneysiders a fun-filled weekend with unique Hong Kong cultural experience including Cantonese Opera, Tai Chi, lion dancing and Chinese calligraphy.
A Hawker Bazaar was set up for visitors to enjoy Hong Kong's signature street food and drinks such as egg waffles, pineapple buns and Hong Kong-style milk tea. There was a photo tunnel showcasing Hong Kong as a vibrant and diverse cosmopolitan city.
Officiating at the opening of the carnival, the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, said Sydney and Hong Kong shared the same passion for great food, quality life and a lovely harbour in the middle of the City.
"Sydney and Hong Kong are both international metropolis and a true melting pot of various cultures. This is why some 100 000 Aussies living in Hong Kong consider it a home away from home for them. At the same time, lots of Hong Kong people love Sydney as much as Hong Kong," Mr Yang said.
"Just like Sydney, Hong Kong plays host to mega international sports and cultural events throughout the year, like the Rugby Sevens, Cantonese opera and world-class musical performances by artists around the world, a perfect mix of east meets west."
As part of the celebration events for the 20th anniversary of HKSAR by HKETO in Australia, HK20 Fun Fun Carnival aimed to promote Hong Kong as a tourist, food and culture destination.
