***********************************************************
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (London ETO) is promoting the achievements of Hong Kong's film industry over the past 20 years by supporting the "Creative Visions: Hong Kong Cinema 1997-2017" (Creative Visions) film festival from September 5 to 10 at Moscow’s Gorizont Cinema. Creative Visions, a six-day programme featuring eight specially curated Hong Kong films produced during the past 20 years, is being held by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society in partnership with Cool Connections of Moscow and is sponsored by Create Hong Kong. It forms part of the London ETO's programme of events to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The Festival started with a screening of "Love Off the Cuff", the third film in the "Love in a Puff" series by director Pang Ho-cheung and producer Subi Liang, and starring popular Hong Kong stars Miriam Yeung and Shawn Yue. The film was introduced by Pang and Liang at its screening on September 5, who then held an audience Q & A session after the screening. Other films to be shown during the festival include "Love in a Puff", "A Simple Life", "Office", "Kung Fu Hustle", "Infernal Affairs" and "Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon". The programme will close with the newly restored "Made in Hong Kong", directed by Fruit Chan 20 years ago.

Speaking at the screening of "Love Off the Cuff" on September 5, the Director-General of London ETO, Ms Priscilla To, said, "Through this film festival, we demonstrate to our friends in Moscow the success and creativity of Hong Kong's film industry which has continued to thrive over the past two decades. Apart from being a centre of trade and business, Hong Kong is also a key arts and cultural hub in Asia. With the unique creativity and vitality of the Hong Kong people, we have developed one of the largest and most dynamic film entertainment industries in the world. The festival will also show audiences the different faces of Hong Kong."

Further details of the programme and screening times can be found at www.coolconnections.ru. Throughout 2017, the London ETO is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR with a programme of events including music, design, fashion, film, visual arts, cultural heritage, public celebrations, dinners, and business seminars and receptions, in the United Kingdom and other countries under its purview.
