Ivy Tsui to stage new work "Water Lilies" exploring dreams and reality

Following her enquiry into the relationship between life and time in "Dehydrated Flower", Tsui explores the relationship between dreams and reality in her latest work "Water Lilies". "I am using daytime flowering water lilies as the introduction, the human body as the media and voices as the navigator, repeatedly entering dreams that may be yours, mine or theirs. As we experience the moments when each blooming water lily welcomes sunlight, are we in fact wandering between a dream and reality?" choreographer-dancer Tsui said.
Ivy Tsui graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2009. She won the Award for Young Artist (Dance) in the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2015, presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. She is skilled in choreographing and creating site-specific dance, and seeks inspiration from the environment. Tsui breaks the limitations of distance, walks close to the audience and shares the moment with them. She is also highly sensitive to nature and enjoys using floral themes. Her works have received critical acclaim.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Dance On" Series: "Water Lilies" by Ivy Tsui will be staged at 8pm on October 20 and 21 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on October 21 and 22 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Black Box Theatre of the Kwai Tsing Theatre. A meet-the-artist session will be held on October 20 (Friday) (to be conducted in Cantonese) after the performance. Members of the audience are welcome to stay behind for the session.
