Hotline for Hong Kong students awaiting visas for studying in United Kingdom
****************************************************************************
Students who have not yet received their visas for studying in the United Kingdom (UK) in this school year or their parents may call the 24-hour dedicated hotline 3142 2522 or download a form from the government website www.gov.hk and email it to ukstudentvisa@1823.gov.hk to register their cases for assistance. The above measures will commence operation at 3pm today (September 5).

"Noting that a number of students are still expecting approval of their student visa applications for studying in the UK, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has set up a dedicated hotline and an email address for them or their parents to register their cases. The HKSAR Government will consolidate the cases and forward the details to the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong for follow-up expeditiously," a Government spokesman said.

The HKSAR Government has urged the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong to give priority attention to processing these student visa applications to minimise delay or disruption to the applicants' education in the UK. The situation will be closely monitored.
