Music Delight concerts to offer fascinating blend of musical styles
***************************************************************

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the upcoming "Music Delight" Series offers local audiences two fascinating programmes featuring an extraordinary blend of musical styles.

The first programme involves concerts by Salut Salon (Germany). Making up the quartet are Angelika Bachmann (violin), Meta Hüper (violin and vocal), Olga Shkrygunova (piano) and Sonja Lena Schmid (cello), who seduce their audience with passionate virtuosity, instrumental acrobatics, charm and a great sense of fun. They include whatever might be combined with their beloved classical music - tango, chansons, folk and film soundtrack - along with virtuosic solos and a cabaret-style show with artistic sketches, all with effortless flair. Salut Salon's performance goes far beyond what would normally be expected of a conventional chamber music concert, taking aficionados of the genre by surprise, not to mention those who wouldn't normally go to a classical concert. The concerts will be staged at 8pm on October 21 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of Sha Tin Town Hall and at 4pm on October 22 (Sunday) at the Auditorium of Yuen Long Theatre. Tickets are priced from $120 to $260.

The second programme comprises a concert by the Janoska Ensemble. Ondrej Janoska (violin), Roman Janoska (violin), František Janoska (piano) and Julius Darvas (double bass) are united by their family ties and have always been rooted in classical music. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from popular classics to their own compositions and unique arrangements of jazz, pop, Latin and gypsy music. Their 2016 debut classical album "Janoska Style" received international acclaim. The ensemble have developed a modern interpretation of works and a unique Janoska style that is both virtuosic and profoundly personal. The concert will be staged at 8pm on October 28 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of Tsuen Wan Town Hall. Tickets are priced at $120, $180 and $240.
