SED on cross-boundary students (with photos)
********************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, at a media session during his visit to Christian and Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Primary School today (September 1):

Reporter: There are cross-boundary students in some regions such as Tung Chung and Tin Shui Wai, some of them would rather choose to study in Shenzhen. Will the Education Bureau consider to review the system and reallocate the school places?

Secretary for Education: It will be very difficult at this stage to reallocate the school places because all of the parents and students have made arrangements to go to their schools. We understand that there will be some students mainly from Shenzhen who may prefer to return to Shenzhen to study, but we will have to wait for a few more days or one or two weeks before we have the final figures of students going back. Anyway, I think there will not be any major or significant impact on our system.
