Mr Lau then visited Quarry Bay Park Phase II to understand the work of the District-led Actions Scheme (DAS) in Eastern District on strengthening mosquito preventive and control work, improving environmental hygiene and public education. Initiatives under the DAS include carrying out regular anti-mosquito fogging operations at new sites, enhancing street cleaning and refuse clearance services, installing additional mosquito trapping devices in open spaces and holding public education talks and roving exhibitions. He said he was pleased that mosquito breeding problems are therefore improving in the district.

Before concluding the visit, Mr Lau visited Siu Sai Wan Community Hall and conducted a site visit at the construction site of the Joint User Complex at Lei King Road to understand the latest developments of the project.
