Fatal fire in Kai Ching Estate

The Fire Services Department received a report of fire at 7.46pm last night, saying that a fire broke out at a domestic unit on the 27th floor of Yuet Ching House. The unit measures about 5 metres x 5m. Firemen used two jets and mobilised two breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. The fire was largely put out at 8.15pm on the same day.
An unconscious man was rescued by firemen from the affected unit. He was sent to United Christian Hospital and was certified dead at 8.31pm on the same day.
Concerning the cause of fire, initial investigations revealed that no suspicious circumstances were noted.
